I arrived in Agadir early afternoon, and rather than do my usual trick of just pressing on for another couple of hundred kms I camped up for the night (in Aourir rather than Agadir itself) and spent a couple of hours relaxing at the beach, reading and watching the sun go down. The town itself was pleasant enough, clean and geared to tourism, but with nothing particular to keep me there the next morning I set off down south and into Western Sahara.
This stretch of Morocco is pretty empty, and I could ride for an hour or more between towns, and see very little traffic along the way. It is beautiful in a sparse way, alternating between dusty, rock strewn emptiness and sandy emptiness, though I did manage to catch some of the local wildlife - a herd of local camels, and what I later found out to be a very poisonous snake (I disappeared over the horizon after it started making a beeline straight for me). My first stop off was in Tan Tan where I met a French biker (Guilhem) who as well as some good conversation gave me some good biking tips, then Boujdour and finally Dakhla. Tomorrow I am heading for Mauritania and the next step of the adventure...
